I'm Ready For a Sticky Situation!

As I told you, I was recently involved in a word of mouth campaign for Lepage Ultra Gel through The Insiders.  Basically, they sent me the product to try, and each time I told any one about it, or got into a discussion about glues and mentioned it, I would then go to their website and report that interaction.

As with a lot of campaigns where people are excited to get started, I suspect this one fizzled out near the end and The Insiders were likely not getting as many reports. They decided to hold a contest to stimulate more activity. The prize was one of three Lepage Toolboxes, full of goodies from the Lepage company.  I managed to win one of these.  It arrived this week.

It's a  nice sturdy plastic toolbox that I will likely use for something other than storing glue.  Inside I found 2 large Pritt Glue Sticks, Premium Quality White Glue, No More Nails all purpose construction adhesive, 100% Adhesive Putty, which fills and seals, Fun -Tak Mounting Putty and 100 % Glue (multi-purpose).

I also still have two unopened bottles of the Ultra Gel, so I'm ready for anything now, that needs to be fixed or stuck together.

Lepage Ultra Gel - Test Three

When I joined The Insiders I had no idea that they would send me such an interesting product to test and share with the rest of you.  The Lepage Ultra Gel is capable of things I would never have dreamed of using it for.  As part of the testing, The Insiders sent along a piece of stretch tubing.....the kind you exercise with like you would with those stretchy bands.  The instructions said to cut it in half, and then glue it back together.  Well, I did that, and figured I'd screwed up the experiment because I didn't line the tubing up properly to start with, but as this glue catches hold within five seconds, I quickly pulled the pieces apart and stuck them back repositioning the ends of the tube correctly.  So, it's my fault if this is repair is a little messier than necessary, but at the same time, it might help you see where the tubing was glued together.  Once the glue was set I challenged a number of people to pull on both ends to see if the glue would hold.  The tubing is stretchy, remember, so they could pull it as if they were having a tug o war with themselves or each other.. The glue held and everyone is totally impressed with this product now. 

Lepage Ultra Gel - Test One

I keep asking people if they have anything that's broken, and nobody seems to....at least not at the moment.  Those who did said they have used Krazy Glue to fix their things in the past.  In some cases that worked, and in other cases it didn't.  I am testing a gel product from Lepage, that might be just what some of those folks need.  Lepage Ultra Gel Control.is a specially formulated rubber toughened instant adhesive that resists impact, shock, vibration and temperature extremes. It is outdoor safe and resistant to moisture and freezing temperatures.
It's good for bonding leather, cork, cardboard, wood, fabric, metal, ceramic, rubber & hard plastics.  Some of these things are usually difficult to stick together because of their uneven texture, or the fact that they may be porous, and would absorb other glues before they have a chance to work.  The gel stays nicely on the surface. You can even apply it to a vertical surface and it won't run, so you can glue things in places where it would normally be a nightmare to even think about trying to stick something..
As a member of The Insiders, a word of mouth advertising network, I was sent a kit and asked to test  Lepage Ultra Gel Control. I was impressed immediately with the size of the sample. They sent me three bottles of the product when I was half expecting a tiny tube.  These bottles come in a patented side-squeeze design for maximum control and air-tight storage. 

 I had two things that had lost the bond between a metal surface and a plastic surface, so today I decided it was time to take this product for a test run.  As I'm a known klutz, and didn't want to take any chances gluing my fingers together, I donned some protective gloves. The applicator worked so well though, that there was not a drop or drip anywhere where it should not have been by the time I was finished.  The bond took place within 15 to 30 seconds. It set within 10 minutes, and will completely cure in 24 hours.  There is no need to clamp anything.  My curling iron and lipstick once again have their plastic handles glued securely in place.

The Insiders also sent me a  something they want me to cut in half and then glue back together again. I'll tell you more about that when I do it.
